Matt Greenwood is originally from Houston, TX and joined the Regional Radio crew in August 2016 as a J98 country music DJ and now serves as the KJFF Sports Director. Matt graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX in 2011 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and spent his first 5 years after college as a play-by-play broadcaster for the online streaming Texas Sports Radio Network covering local high schools in the greater Houston area. While calling games, Matt also worked for the very first all-news FM radio station in Houston, News92 FM, which has since been shut down, as a morning show producer and news reporter.
Matt has a broad range of interests outside of sports including attending plays and musicals, hiking, socializing, working out, watching TV (Game of Thrones, am I right?!?!), and helping others. Matt’s favorite singer-songwriter of all-time is Billy Joel. His favorite actor is a 3-way tie between Tom Hanks, Will Smith, and Matt Damon. His favorite movie is Forrest Gump. His favorite movie series and book series is Harry Potter.
