Andy joined the Regional Radio family in September 2017 as an on-air talent and now serves as the J-98/KREI Sports Director. He is a former minor league baseball broadcaster, most recently with the Sugar Land Skeeters, an Atlantic League team near his hometown of Houston, Texas. You can hear him on J-98 every weekday from 9 a.m. to noon playing your favorite country music as well as on various HS sports broadcasts on J-98 and KREI.
Even though he was born and raised in Texas, Andy is no stranger to the Show-Me State. He graduated from the University of Missouri in December 2016 with degrees in Radio/TV Journalism and Sport Management. He got his start in radio with KCOU 88.1 FM, the Mizzou student radio station, broadcasting play-by-play for Mizzou football, basketball, soccer, baseball and softball. In 2016, he earned a Missouri Broadcasters Association award for Sports Play-by-Play.
While at Mizzou, he also worked at KBIA-FM, the NPR affiliate in Columbia, as a news reporter and anchor. In 2016, he was nominated for a Mark of Excellence award from the Society of Professional Journalists in the radio sports reporting category.
Andy grew up as a big country music fan; some of his favorite artists include George Strait, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum and Chris Stapleton. His other interests include reading, hiking, watching documentary films, and rooting on his Houston Astros among the sea of Cardinals fans!
